On the afternoon of October 15, the opening ceremony and apprenticeship ritual for the second On-Site Engineer Class, jointly organized by World Precision and Hunan Mechanical and Electrical College, was successfully held in the college's multi-functional lecture hall. The event, themed "School-Enterprise Collaboration Cultivates Elites, Mentor-Apprentice Pairing Passes on Skills," marked a new milestone in the partnership between the institution and the industry. The On-Site Engineer Training Program is a significant initiative to explore a collaborative education mechanism, achieving a win-win outcome for the school, the enterprise, and the students.
Last year, World Precision and Hunan Mechanical and Electrical College deepened their cooperation to cultivate "On-Site Engineers for High-End Precision Parts Processing," successfully advancing the apprenticeship model and developing supporting curriculum resources, with remarkable results. This year, building on the success of the first program, both parties will further enhance their collaboration to create a more comprehensive training system for on-site engineers in CNC technology and quality inspection.

At the opening ceremony, Yan Zhiyong, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Hunan Mechanical and Electrical College, delivered the opening speech. She emphasized that the joint establishment of the On-Site Engineer Class and the unveiling of the Industrial College represent a crucial milestone in leveraging the complementary strengths of both sides and fostering collaborative education. She noted that the college would draw on its over 50 years of professional expertise to collaborate with World Precision in building a "Dual-Mentor" training model. By integrating enterprise standards and real-world cases into the curriculum and holding a solemn apprenticeship ceremony, the program aims to achieve a deep connection from "form" to "substance." She encouraged students to cherish this opportunity, strengthen their theoretical knowledge, and hone their skills, striving to become well-rounded on-site engineers who understand craftsmanship, can coordinate effectively, and take on responsibilities, thereby contributing to the development of the precision manufacturing industry.
Xu, Deputy General Manager of World Precision's Smart Manufacturing Center, reflected on the three-year journey of collaboration with Hunan Mechanical and Electrical College, which has evolved from exploration to deep integration. He highlighted that the school-enterprise partnership has established a mature collaborative education mechanism, creating a seamless transition platform from "student" to "World Precision professional." This initiative has nurtured a group of outstanding talents who have progressed from the classroom to the production front line, becoming technical backbone members. For the new cohort, Xu pledged continued investment of high-quality resources, providing industry-aligned practical training, broader growth platforms, and clear career development pathways to support students' solid growth in precision manufacturing and inspection. He also encouraged students to adopt a "zero-based" learning mindset, "root" themselves in their studies, and "aim high" in the industry, aspiring to become high-quality technical talents who can contribute to China's transformation from a "manufacturing giant" to a "manufacturing power."

Shi Shaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Mechanical and Electrical College, urged students to not only master theoretical knowledge but also enhance their practical skills, striving to become high-quality technical talents that meet the demands of the new era. The ceremony also featured a solemn apprenticeship segment, where student representatives from the CNC class and inspection class paid respects to their mentors from both the school and the enterprise, presenting tea as a gesture of reverence, while the mentors gifted souvenirs in return. During the representative speeches, Li Bin (school mentor), Li Yuemeng (enterprise mentor), and Xie Tao (student representative) expressed their confidence and determination in teaching and learning.
Building on the success of the first order-based class, the second class will further deepen the school-enterprise collaboration model, providing a strong guarantee for cultivating composite talents that meet industry needs. Finally, we wish all students great achievements in their studies and a brilliant future on the platform provided by World Precision.
